SelfWorkers, WorldWorkers and Polarizing with Love or Fear
By Paul Piotrowski on Mar 28, 2007 in Law of Attraction, Spirituality
To further clarify my previous post, Balancing the Selfworker and Worldworker Inside You I created some graphics to go over the different possibilities involved with the energies we’re discussing. Firstly, lets go through the two directions when it comes to where the energy behind your intentions comes from. The two energies are either FEAR or LOVE. Neither are good nor bad, they’re just different types of energy motivation.
In his book, Power vs. Force, Dr. David R. Hawkins defines a scale of consciousness ranging from 0 to 1,000. I will go into more detail about this in an article soon, but for the time being, all you really need to know is that he has defined different types of consciousness going from lowest to highest in this order: Shame, Guilt, Apathy, Grief, Fear, Desire, Anger, Pride, Courage, Neutrality, Willingness, Acceptance, Reason, Love, Joy, Peace, Enlightenment. As you express positive love energy in your day to day life you move in the positive direction towards enlightenment, and as you express negative fear energy in your day to day life you move in the negative direction towards shame.
For the purpose of this article, when I say LOVE energy I am not speaking of the emotional feeling of love that people associate with “falling in love”, but rather all the feelings of love wrapped up in one package such as the love of a mother towards her child, the love of one human being for another, the feeling of compassion for another person etc. all wrapped into one energy. That is the energy of LOVE. FEAR energy is the opposite of that. It isn’t just passive fear, it can be aggressive fear, demobilizing fear, etc.
Now, let’s look at the basic diagram I created to illustrate how LOVE and FEAR energy combine with SELFWorker and WORLDWorker applications in life. Here is the basic diagram of a starting point. This person has not yet decided which direction he wishes to express energy in. Meaning, he hasn’t decided whether his intention will help him SELF or the WORLD. Therefore he is “Undecided”. Also, there is no LOVE or FEAR polarization to the intention because the person hasn’t decided to pick one side or the other. Take a look at this diagram. You will see that nothing is happening. The person is neither growing in the direction of enlightenment, nor shrinking in the direction of shame, he is simply standing still.

Now, from this starting point I want to explore the different paths possible. Firstly, lets look at what happens when a person leads an unbalanced life and chooses to focus strictly on him SELF (SELF LOVE) but when it comes to the rest of the world he acts out of fear (WORLD FEAR). This is the diagram for that:

This diagram illustrates what I mentioned in my previous article was “SELFWorker Syndrome”. The person can be expending vasts amounts of positive loving energy towards themselves studying all kind of materials, books, seminars, learning different technologies, religions, spiritual systems, etc. but he is being pulled back right to the middle by his lack of love towards the world. This person will often exhibit behaviour patterns such as arrogance, highly intelligent debating with others to prove them wrong, isolating themselves from the world, and focusing strictly on “What’s in it for me?”. These kinds of people are annoying to be around, and often have trouble making and keeping friends which even furthers their isolation. In the end, even though they are expanding vasts amounts of energy in SELF LOVE, it simply gets cancelled out by the FEAR energy they are projecting to the world. In the end the fear energy they associate with the world reflects back at them and they have a fall. That may mean they end up going to jail, get attacked by someone or generally get nowhere as soon as people figure out that they only interested in themselves and producing a WIN/LOSE situation. These people may actually end up being rich money wise, but not for long and even while they have financial resources they aren’t happy.
Next diagram:

Now, in this diagram we see an unbalanced life of an individual that has chosen to LOVE the world, but has forgotten to LOVE himself. In my previous article I have mentioned this was called “WORLDWorker Syndrome” which is basically a person who expands vasts amounts of positive loving energy towards the world participating in every possible kind of charitable event, helping their friends, family, relatives, co-workers, complete strangers, community projects, church groups, orphans, hospitals, and on and on but at the same time they are expanding nothing but FEAR energy towards themselves. Because people suffering from this syndrome have not expanded any effort in loving themselves they often have a lot of quirks and weaknesses that are clearly visible to themselves and others. These types of people produce very little results for the world they are trying to fix because they have no power to do so. They may suffer from health problems, malnutrition, low self-esteem, depression, suicidal tendencies, lack of education and just generally really don’t take care of themselves. They try to help the world, but the world doesn’t seem to respond. They then feel powerless and useless which even further fuels their low self esteem and self-hatred. The only positive energy they feel is the short bursts of energy they get from directly helping their close friends, family or relatives and live to hear the words “Thanks!” as a little boost to their self esteem. This is an unbalanced path. The problem is not their intention to help the world, the problem is their inability to do so because they haven’t LOVED themselves yet, and if you can’t LOVE yourself, you can’t really LOVE anyone else.
Next diagram:

This is a diagram of what I call a balanced SELFWorker and WORLDWorker. This individual is capable of producing massive amounts of positive change both in the world and in himself because he has aligned both sides with LOVE energy. When this person does something, his intention is to help him-SELF and the WORLD at the same time. Everything is in balance. This person realizes that to help the world he must also help himself and vice versa. People suffering from WORLDWorker Syndrome will often call this type of person “SELFISH” even thought the person may have donated $2 Billion dollars to charitable causes in the last few years. People suffering from SELFWorker Syndrome will often be inspired by this person because he has achieved a lot of wealth in all areas of his life, but the SELFWorker fails to see that it was accomplished by balancing SELF Love and WORLD Love.
This path of balancing your LOVE energy in both directions doesn’t necessarily mean that it has to be 50% / 50%. It may mean that for certain projects, you are mostly helping the world and really the only benefit you get for yourself is the feeling inside. For other projects the benefit may be 90%/10% in favor of your SELF. The point is that your starting point with every thought and intention is “HOW CAN I HELP THE WORLD AND MYSELF AT THE SAME TIME?”. Authors such as Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, Tony Robbins and even CEO’s such as Bill Gates started off with this type of intention. You will not find low self esteem and self-hatred amongst them, and you will not find greed and world-hate amongst them. They love themselves, and they love the world.
One final diagram:

This is the path of a person who has a highly pessimistic world view and suffers from low self esteem. This type of person is typically only motivated by fear energy. They suffer from bouts of depression and outbursts of anger, and follow a path of increasing destruction both to themselves and the world around them. They feel weak and unloved, and they feel the world is unloving as well. These are the hardest people to be around as they drain any positive energy right out of you. They will often point out the latest doomsday news and how the whole world is going to hell. They then switch back and forth between convincing you how horrible the world is and how horrible they are. In almost all cases, these types of people feel out of control. They don’t feel they have any control over themselves, their emotions, their moods, their thoughts or even their actions. They don’t feel like they have any control over the world either. In reality they are partially right because they don’t have a lot of control but it’s not because they can’t, it’s because they aren’t AWARE of the fact that they have CHOICE to take control. Any efforts they try to take are still driven primarily out of fear so no long lasting effects stick with them. They’ll get inspired, try something, and give up shortly after further “proving” to themselves that there’s no point in trying.
The purpose of this article was simply to illustrate the different polarities (LOVE and FEAR) and the different directions (SELF and WORLD) and how they inter-relate and provide a background for my previous article ( Balancing the Selfworker and Worldworker Inside You ).
Since most of the readers of this blog will most likely fall into a balanced scenario or perhaps SELFWorker Syndrome sufferers or WORLDWorker Sufferers the path of greater success will be to follow the balanced path I described (SELF Love + WORLD Love). There are also other paths such as SELF Love + WORLD Neutral, and SELF Neutral + WORLD Love, but I think it’s pretty rare to be neutral. Most of us are either FEAR or LOVE polarized in the directions of our lives.
I hope this helps to establish a little bit more clarity on this topic.
